Love in Buckets on the Ground Floor

Grew this love tree in my backyard
I'd give you some but the fruit went hard
All these apples we made apple sauce
Cut it with sugar
it's a precious resource

'Cause
love
love
love
love
love
is all we really need now

My yard's got traffic like you wouldn't believe
Everyone wants from my love tree
The pushing shoving spreads uncontrollably
We need a body regulating we

'Cause
love
love
love
love
love
All we need is love

Words make sweet nothings
Saccharine's finest dust
and we choke and choke
like there just isn't enough
We're not covered yet
We're not smothered yet

Knocked on my door in the early morn
The saddest things I've ever looked upon
Said, "You've so much can we a little more?
"Life is just so brutish and short."

'Cause
love
love
love
love
love
Don't grow around here no more.
