Perpetually Deceived

Perpetually deceived

I'm always
tired and flattered
Meat on the platter
Not very good at anything

Always on the ladder
Grasping at tatters
Hounded by laughter
at the spoils I bring

Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure constant)
Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure thing)

You're always coming or going
With no way of knowing
Barely the time
To announce my self

Always an annoyance
To your precious moments
Are you really the mentor
You said you'd be?

Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure constant)
Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure thing)

We're always sorry it's so daunting
To manage time wanting
In between work and private things

There's few things that matter
and more that we'd rather
talk it all over,
the next time we meet

Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure constant)
Perpetually deceived
How could you do this to me?
(No power no motion
But one sure thing)
